In a significant move aimed at strengthening cyber security in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to request the establishment of a “Cyber Center of Excellence.” The state government is seeking an allocation of ₹63.60 crores to facilitate this initiative, which is essential in countering the increasing challenges posed by digital threats and cybercrime.

Recognizing the importance of cyber security in today's rapidly digitizing world, CM Dhami emphasized the need for enhanced capabilities in preventing digital crimes, offering expert training, and developing modern cyber forensic resources. During the meeting, he underscored that the proposed Cyber Center of Excellence would play a pivotal role in these areas. Additional Requests to the Central Government

He urged the need to include electrical infrastructure losses, caused by natural disasters, under the compensation frameworks of the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). This adjustment aims to enhance and empower the state's disaster management framework, particularly pertinent given the geographical challenges faced by small Himalayan states.

In another significant proposal, the Chief Minister requested approval for ₹150.16 crores for the expansion of the Sitarganj Central Jail. This step is essential for improving correctional facilities within the state and ensuring adequate space and resources for rehabilitation.

During his address, CM Dhami also highlighted the successful conduct of the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit 2023, which saw investments exceeding ₹3.50 lakh crores through various memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
