In a dynamic and noteworthy event held at Balliwala, Dehradun, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a felicitation ceremony organized by various religious and social organizations aimed at promoting a 'Corruption-Free Uttarakhand'. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister took the opportunity to administer an oath to all attendees, pledging their commitment to eliminate corruption from the state.
Significant Steps Towards Corruption-free Governance
Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to eradicate corruption, emphasizing that this initiative is not merely a formality but a vital step towards fulfilling the aspirations of the good people of Uttarakhand. He described the event as a celebration of the collaborative effort between the government and the citizens, reiterating that the fight against corruption requires a collective commitment.
"This event is not just a recognition but a celebration of our collective dream of a corruption-free Uttarakhand," stated Dhami. He assured citizens that their support is the backbone of this campaign, which aims to foster integrity, transparency, and accountability within the state governance.
Technological Advancements to Uphold Transparency
Underlining the importance of transparency, Dhami shared details about the state government's 'Zero Tolerance' policy towards corruption. He mentioned the proactive use of technology to streamline processes such as online transfer procedures and monitoring examination systems. Initiatives like the CM Helpline (1905) for public grievances and a dedicated hotline (1064) for reporting corruption complaints have been key in fostering a transparent governance model.
In the past three years, the government has taken strict action against over 200 individuals involved in corrupt practices, reaffirming its dedication to accountability. Furthermore, Dhami revealed that more than 24,000 individuals have been provided with government jobs in Uttarakhand within the last four years, emphasizing the administration's commitment to fair and just opportunities for all.
Legal Framework Strengthening and Public Safety Measures
The Chief Minister also pointed out the implementation of significant laws aimed at combatting issues like illegal land acquisitions and love jihad. Initiatives such as "Operation Kalnemi" were discussed, aimed at identifying and apprehending suspicious individuals, including illegal immigrants. He urged the public to report any such activities promptly to the authorities.
Dhami's declarations were underscored by a call to action for the citizens, encouraging them to embody integrity and support for the anti-corruption agenda. Emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of “Na Khaunga, Na Khane Doonga” (Neither will I indulge in corruption, nor allow others), he vowed that the state government is dedicated to building a transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance framework.
A Call for Collective Action
In addition to community leaders and representatives from various religious and social organizations, the event featured prominent figures such as MLA Khajan Das and Swami Chidanand Saraswati. Their presence reaffirmed the broad-based support for the administration's anti-corruption efforts and a shared commitment to the welfare of the state.
As the ceremony concluded, the Chief Minister called upon the citizens to stand united against corruption, instilling hope for a prosperous and ethical future for Uttarakhand. It’s evident that the journey towards a corruption-free state is a shared responsibility, one that requires the effort of every individual.
