On Sunday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated as the chief guest in the Youth Worker Conference and Closing Ceremony of the Golden 70 Years of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Uttarakhand, held at the Rishikul Ayurvedic College Auditorium. This event marked a significant moment celebrating the contributions of the organization and its efforts towards labor welfare and national development.
Significant Remarks by CM Dhami
During his address, CM Dhami emphasized the importance of establishing a major center at Rishikul. He proposed that the institution should broaden its scope to include areas like tourism, spirituality, education, Ayurveda, and astrology. In a bold announcement, he stated that a Madan Mohan Malviya State Research Institute would be established on the premises, aiming to facilitate comprehensive studies in yoga, meditation, and spirituality, which will also aid in the promotion of spiritual tourism.
Celebrating Seven Decades of Service
CM Dhami noted that the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has evolved into an expansive entity over the years, overcoming numerous challenges since its inception. With the organization set to celebrate 70 years on July 23, 2025, he highlighted its mission of national building through the welfare of workers and adherence to indigenous values. He commended the organization for enabling workers to transform from mere laborers to pillars of national progress.
Reflecting on the past, he recounted how, after independence, the nation faced a scarcity of resources. However, the relentless efforts of workers paved the way for substantial progress. "Today, we stand with an abundance of resources, thanks to their hard work," he remarked.
Commitment to Labor Welfare
CM Dhami articulated that previous movements, influenced by foreign ideologies, often overlooked indigenous philosophies. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has played a pivotal role in instilling a new thought process among the workers, students, and youth. The Chief Minister reiterated that the current government is dedicated to advancing labor interests through various schemes that reach even the most marginalized sections of society.
"Millions of workers have registered on the labor portal established by our government, ensuring their inclusion in the formal economy. We are providing insurance and health benefits to workers, which aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'," stated Dhami.
Focusing on Youth Empowerment
The CM underscored the immense potential of India's youth, emphasizing that 65% of the population is under 35 years of age. He believes that if this youthful energy is harnessed correctly, India could emerge as a global powerhouse. He lauded the Skill India initiative launched under the Prime Minister's leadership for providing vibrant opportunities for the youth to connect with jobs and contribute to the self-reliant India campaign.
Conclusion
In conclusion, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s presence at the conference signifies the government's commitment to workers' rights and youth empowerment. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh's contributions have shaped a more equitable society through its relentless dedication to labor welfare. As we look toward the future, with initiatives focused on spirituality, youth engagement, and labor rights, Uttarakhand seems poised for prosperous growth and development.
