In a significant event held on Sunday night, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Youth Dialogue Program organized by the news channel 'Chhad Di Kala' at a hotel on Rajpur Road, Dehradun. CM Dhami shared his insights on various issues, reaffirming his belief in the importance of on-ground leadership rather than merely issuing directives from the office.
Importance of Ground Zero Over Office Directives
While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami reflected on the need for more direct involvement in crisis situations, stating, “It is crucial to be present at Ground Zero rather than just issuing orders from the office.” He underlined this approach, particularly in the context of handling disasters like the Dharali disaster or the Silkhyara crisis. He also directed high-ranking officials to set up camps in disaster-affected areas to monitor situations directly.
UCC: A Step Towards Equality
In a broader discourse on societal reforms, CM Dhami highlighted the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. He emphasized that the UCC is a historical step towards achieving equality and justice for all residents of the state. “This law does not target any religion or community; rather, it seeks to end age-old practices and ensure a legal framework that provides equal rights for women across all religions,” expressed Dhami.
Strict Anti-Copying Law for Fairness in Examinations
CM Dhami also shed light on the implementation of a robust anti-copying law in Uttarakhand aimed at enhancing transparency in competitive examinations. “Uttarakhand boasts the strictest anti-copying law in India, ensuring that exams are conducted fairly. Over the past four years, more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs, showcasing a new level of confidence among the youth,” he noted.
Committed to a Developed Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister articulated his vision for a developed India, stating that Uttarakhand aims to play a pivotal role in this mission. “Our development will not just be a goal but a reality achieved through the growth of our society, citizens, and every sector within the state,” he remarked, signaling a proactive approach towards growth.
Prominent figures at the event included Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Former Chief Minister and Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal among other dignitaries.
This dialogue forms a crucial part of the Chief Minister's strategy to engage with the youth and ensure their voices are heard in the decision-making processes of the state.
